Earls Court is best known for the Earls Court Exhibition Hall but is also a lively and cosmopolitan district in its own right. There are plenty of budget and discount hotels in the area and Earls Court is an excellent place to look for relatively cheap accommodation in London.

The Exhibition Hall was first opened in 1937 for the Chocolate and Confectionery Exhibition. Designed by Chicago architect C. Howard Crane, its construction took 18 months and cost £1.5m. At the time, it was the largest reinforced concrete structure ever built and large enough to hold two St Paul's Cathedrals or five Royal Albert Halls!
Earls Court 2 was built in 1991 at a cost of £100m. Designed by RMJM architects and built by P&Os' construction group Bovis it took just over two years to complete.
